Arrival

The chalet should be clean and tidy. We do not use a cleaner between occupancies, and request that chalet users clean the chalet when they leave. This system has worked well for 25 years, and helps to keep down the cost of your let.

You should find the shutters closed in the main living areas. These are opened by turning the rod at the side of the window. You should then look for the grey folder, which contains information regarding the use of appliances, and also information regarding local attractions. Further information regarding doctors, and Property Care Chatel, the firm that service the chalet, is on the notice board at the entrance to the main living area. They should be contacted in the first instance regarding any problems.

The main electrical fuse boards should  then be located, one is at the bottom of the stairs of the upper chalet, and the other is in the cupboard at the bottom of the stairs of the lower chalet. You will need to turn on the water heaters, which are located on the fuse boards, information regarding this is in the grey folders. The water heaters work at night, but can be switched to boost if you run out, however they are unlike English immersion heaters in that they are much slower at heating the water.

Also you should familiarise yourself with the electrical cut off switches situated on the fuse board. If there is an electrical problem within the chalet, or with the supply, they will ‘trip out’, and need re-setting.

The chalet is heated by electricity. The heaters usually only need to be on a low setting, as the chalet is well insulated.

The electrical devices in the kitchen and laverie are all easy to use.

There will be small amounts of food and spices in the kitchen, please feel free to use them.

Departure.

Please remove all rubbish from the chalet and put it in the bins at the bottom of the drive by the garage. There are 2 bins, one for bottles and one for general rubbish.

Please leave the chalet clean and tidy, including loos and floors. The carpets should be hoovered and the floors mopped. Any dirty pots should be put into the dishwasher which should be switched on. The fridge should be emptied.

Sinks and baths should be cleaned.

We like to keep a small amount of cleaning materials in the chalet. Please replace any that are used up. Also we like to keep a few loo rolls in the laverie, please do not use them all up. Likewise there is a box of spare light bulbs and fuses in the laverie.

Please leave the room heaters on in winter months, a low setting of 1 to 2 should suffice.

When all is tidy, please close the blinds, switch off the water heaters, and lock the front door as you leave.
